I Still Believe by Frank Turner
Last month I was toying with the idea of creating a blog. After seeing Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls live in concert my inspiration to spread music was immense. I’ve been to plenty of concerts since I was thirteen, however none of those shows were quite like a Frank Turner show. The crowd was so immersed and captivated. I saw a total of maybe five people on their cell phones during the performance.
Music has the power to bring people together. Creating a space for individuals to feel apart of something so much bigger afterwards. I left the venue inspired. Inspired to show my friends my music, post songs on social media more, and to keep an open mind towards new music.
When choosing the first song I would be posting for this blog, I felt a tremendous pressure. “This is the first post, this song has to be special” I kept telling myself.
Frank Turner was the inspiration for the creation of this blog. Therefore it seemed fitting he gets the first post!
I Still Believe has been stuck on repeat for the past few weeks now. This song is about rock and roll saving lives, bringing us together, and inspiring. It couldn’t be more perfect for this feeling I’ve been having.
Show of hands if music has changed your life or if a song has single handily saved your life. *Raises hand*.
The bridge of I Still Believe hits hard on the concept of music saving lives. And there’s a harmonica solo, who doesn’t love a harmonica?!
“And I still believe (I still believe) in the sound, that has the power to raise a temple and tear it down.
And I still believe (I still believe) in the need for guitars and drums and desperate poetry.
And I still believe (I still believe) that everyone, can find a song for every time they’ve lost and every time they’ve won.
So just remember folks we not just saving lives, we’re saving souls,
And we’re having fun”.
Enjoy this lovely track. I sure do.
